Experiencia Completa

Coffee Tour is a 5 to 6-hour shared experience that offers a hands-on look into the coffee tradition of Quindío. The day begins at 7:30 a.m. with transportation from Salento to Finca Buenos Aires, located approximately 7 kilometers from the town.

The farm is located between 1,700 and 1,900 meters above sea level, in a humid temperate climate zone with average temperatures ranging between 18 °C and 24 °C. These conditions favor coffee cultivation and create a landscape of mountains, bamboo groves, and biodiversity.

During the tour, a local guide will explain the coffee process from germination and planting of the seedling (“chapola”). You will walk among coffee plants, learn about different varieties, participate in harvesting ripe cherries, and observe their reception and pulping.

You will also discover how fermentation, drying, and sorting influence the coffee’s aroma and flavor. The experience includes a traditional snack of plantain with “hogao” (savory tomato-onion sauce).

At the end, you will take part in an interactive brewing session and learn to recognize the differences between commercial coffee and specialty single-origin coffee. The package includes transportation from Salento, a guide, hydration, and medical assistance insurance.
